Brisbane is the busiest among the smaller capital cities, with 135 properties up for auction and a preliminary clearance rate of 67.5%. Adelaide has the highest clearance rate at 79.7%, with 103 properties being auctioned.

In Melbourne, resident Jill Leeton wrote on Facebook that converting a plain two-story office building in Glen Iris into 80 architect-designed apartments, a supermarket, and a liquor store is a 'shameful' proposal and a 'greedy bully.' Another resident, Louise Watkins, claimed it would 'completely destroy a residential area' and described it as a 'nightmare of traffic congestion.'

However, it is unlikely to gain approval from the Northern Sydney Council this year.
